The First Camp to Petite Macoucherie Trail

One of the challenging segments of the Waitukubuli National Trail which leads way up to the heights of Melville Hall Estate to First Camp. This long challenging trail which goes from east to west within nine (9) hours of hiking, gives one the opportunity to pass through the Northern Forest Reserve, across rivers and over the Mosquito Mountain before descending into Carholm Estate. It is said to be a difficult hike especially during rain.

The trail is 14 km long. Segment 8 also showcases our mixed wildlife including Dominica’s National Bird, the Sisserou Parrot.
